What does it mean when you have swollen glands? Is that a sign of a viral infection, or just a plain ol' cold?

Childless by Choice

As most of you know, Sean & I were part of a research and documentary on being childless by choice. (I have it linked here on this blog). Last night, I received an email from Laura, who is producing this documentary:

Hi everyone,There is a good chance I will be getting some national publicity for the Childless by Choice Project tomorrow (wednesday) and possibly this weekend. I lent some Childless by Choice documentary interview footage to a producer at NBC Nightly News who is doing a short segment titled "Are childfree marriages happier ones?" I gave her a bunch of small clips and I don't know what she will use but when I spoke to her today it sounded like she was going to use some of that footage. I believe she also interviewed No Kidding! spokesperson Vincent Ciaccio, so hopefully both clips will be used in the final edit of the segment. According to the producer, the segment will air on NBC Nightly News:tomorrow-- sometime btwn 5p and 630p-- on various local stations... I'll let you know if WNBC or WHDH pick it up to run... and then offered up for the weekend Nightly News-- TBD if Sat or Sun and you have to check local listings-- some markets the wknd show plays at 630p-- sometimes it 6pEST. We'll see what happens. I am hoping we will make the cut ;-). Best regards to all, Laura

So, Sean & I might make it onto a news segment! (autograph signing convention will be determined at a later date) In other news, Sean & I helped Marns out on a mini-documentary she did about gay marriages/position of evangelical churches etc in regards to 2 friends of ours, H&D, who met when they were working as Bible Camp Counselors, fell in love, were excommunicated from the church (D's family are comprised of pastors, missionaries and etc, they have never really welcomed her back into the family) and were married a year ago. It looks like Marn's snippet of film is being showed at this amateur film-makers convention. Again, we are going to be on the big screen. Way to go Marns!!

Totally off topic, but last night, as I was flipping channels, I came across "Dog the Bounty Hunter" I have never watched an episode before and while I was watching them prepare for a "take down in Buck town" they prayed prior to going out to catch the bad guys. This left me pondering the thought, "why do most people, when they pray, demand things of god?", like, 'god, protect us', 'we need you god', or 'god let us catch this criminal'. I never thought it was right to demand something of anyone, and here is Dog demanding protection and the ability to capture someone from the supreme high being!

Happy Foggy Monday to all!

*Phew* it has been a very busy week/weekend! I enjoy being busy, but I am not that happy when I get no time to do laundry! Sean & I only had some "down time" on Tuesday & Thursday of this past week. We were either hosting dinner or going to a friend's house for dinner all week long. It must be the feeling of "spring" that is making us just that much more sociable.

One of the highlights of this past week was going to the Flying Club (where Sean once worked as a dispatcher, and then an instructor) and meeting up with old flying buddies. Speaking of which on Friday afternoon I played hookey from work and we met up with an old colleague of Sean's - it was GREAT to see you again, Sue!! The other highlight was having the gang over to Sean's parent's house for an East Indian nosh. (I will post pics of all of our week's events on my flickr site sometime this week)

I really should write more and do a proper blog about all of our festivities, but I have to prepare for the audit committee meeting.
